Leaping Towards Your Success: The F.R.O.G Method
When life is not treating you well, how do you show up for you?
When everything seems to be falling apart, how can one use the lemons that life gives and turn it into a lemonade?
When things are not going towards the way we thought it should be, we may feel like the “weighed down” frog in a popular Mark Twain short story “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County”.
In the story, the vivacious owner of this celebrated jumping frog placed a bet on something that he is completely certain he will not lose— the frog “out jumping” that of the competitor’s.
The opposing party took his chance to win and put on some bullets on the celebrated jumping frog’s mouth. Consequently, the frog was not able jump as far as he could.
The owner was hugely disappointed when he knew this.
And the short story ended with a moral lesson that we all learned in some way or another: such is life.
With this realization, we inevitably carry the heaviness within us that makes it difficult for us to move forward in life.
So, we look for ways to get out of this predicament— no matter how frustrating it may be.
What if you can have ease with this?
If you are ready to get unstuck, read on.
And, let’s leap F.R.O.G to success.
To create progress, fear must be acknowledged first.
Fear is like the dirty dishes in the sink. When more of it gets accumulated over time, it stinks— up until you won’t be able to ignore it anymore.
There is nothing more stress-inducing than setting aside the things we know we should be doing.
Nothing good comes out of doing that.
Facing what you fear may be temporarily uncomfortable in the short-term but the effects in doing so will provide long-term rewards.
Coming from the space of acknowledging fear, you are now able to give yourself a time to reflect.
Ponder on the decisions you have made that placed you in this situation and what can be done moving forward.
How we make these decisions can be based on a variety of factors: habits, ineffective mental scripts, emotional reactivity and the like.
On this phase, do your very best to stop judging yourself. Lean on to being an observer of the situation. Step into knowing.
Then, you can objectively see what needs changing and draw out the confidence to step forward into the required change.
What can be done to overcome this barrier?
Would it help to look for a coach? Journal your thoughts? Make an action plan? Get an accountability partner? Do self-care activities? Talk to a friend?
Our brain is made to learn new things and new patterns. If trained well, we can adapt to new habits that work for us rather than against us.
What matters is you commit to you and the change that you are willing to create.
Lastly, grow. The best way to learn from an experience is to take the lessons and apply it.
What growth can be created now that you have embraced the willingness to change?
The only way to make the whole FROG method successful is to include you in the process.
Self-awareness brings forth the power you already have and perceive what this wonderful world has to offer.
So, what other areas of your life would you like to get unstuck from?
Whatever it may be, you can always use the FROG method and leap towards to your success!
With these steps, you can have ease in your everyday life.
